Executive Committee
The current executive committee took over on October 14th, 2008. It follows a committee that set new trends in various aspects. Our challenges are many and hopes are high.
This page is reflective of the fact that we belong to diverse academic backgrounds and varied schools of music. But in a large sense, we are all of the same musical temperament.
Rithvik Raja - President
Rithvik is currently a disciple of Sri T.M. Krishna. He finished his entire schooling in Vidya Mandir, Mylapore and his Bachelors in Commerce at Vivekananda College. This is his third term in YACM and his second term as the president. He has won almost all major competitions and has given performances in every major sabha. He is currently pursuing a course in Sound Engineering at SAE College. He is also an avid web designer.
S.R. Ethirajan - Vice President
S.R. Ethirajan is a performing mridangist. He is an alumnus of the National Public School. He had his initial training from Sri M.N. Kandaswami Pillai and is currently under the tutelage of Sri T.K. Murthy. He is currently working in WIPRO Solutions in Chennai. This is also his second term at YACM.
K Dharini - Secretary
K Dharini did her schooling in National Public School, Gopalapuram. She is currently a final year B.Com student at MOP Vaishnav College. She was training under Late Smt. SUlochana Pattabhiraman and she currently undergoes training under Smt R. Vedavalli. She has won many prizes in numerous inter-school competitions.
Ramya Kannan - Treasurer
Ramya Kannan did her schooling in Vidya Mandir, Mylapore and completed her B.Com in MOP Vaishnav College. She is currently pursuing a course as a Charted Accountant. She is learning from Smt. Sugandha Kalamegam and has won many prizes at school level competitions.
G. Chandrasekara Sharma
Chandasekara Sharma is currently doing his 3rd year B.com in A.M. Jain College. He plays the ghatam and has been under extensive training under his uncles Shri T.H. Subash Chandran and Vikku Shri T.H. Vinayakaram. He also learns vocal music from Shri N. Vijay Siva. He is currently an up and coming ghatam artiste in the carnatic music circuit.
V. Anirudh Atreya
Anirudh Atreya completed his B.Com at Vivekananda College. He learnt the Kanjira initially from his grandfather Sri V. Nagarajan and is currently under the guidance of Sri T.K. Murthy. He is now a top ranking Kanjira artiste and has toured all over India and aborad.
Vikram K. Raghavan
Vikram is a music student training under Sri T.M. Krishna. He has lived in the United States since the age of 1 and studied engineering and business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He recently moved to Chennai after working for several years to continue learning music. He is currently a management consultant with Accenture.
Harini Ramakrishnan
Harini Ramakrishnan hails from Coimbatore and she had all her education there. She currently works in CTS (Cognizant Technology Solutions). She plays the keyboard for the office band and also for the famous band 'Madras Tunes'. She is a disciple of Smt. Vijayalakshmi Subramaniam.
